Registered Clinical Counsellor
Approved Clinical Supervisor and Supervisor of Supervisors
Certified Canadian Counsellor
MA in Counselling Psychology
My background spans social activism, cultural anthropology, and community organizing. These experiences ground my deep commitment to social justice. Consequently, I offer treatment that is collaborative, non‑judgmental, ethical, and compassionate.
Healthy Masculinity
My current focus is healthy masculinity, and I work with individual men, couples, and groups to support men’s mental health, connection, and well‑being.
My foundational modalities—Narrative Therapy and Buddhist psychology—complement each other beautifully in helping us rewrite the stories that guide our lives.
I have a special relationship with Indigenous people and communities. For four years, I served as counselling director with a remote coastal First Nation, where we offered talk therapy, land‑based healing, and collaborated with traditional medicine people to address the ongoing impacts of colonization.
Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of programs—including a peer‑based centre for youth experiencing homelessness, a therapeutic day treatment program for criminally involved youth, and a low‑barrier treatment centre for adults.
Educational Background
After graduating with presidential honours from City University of Seattle’s master’s in counselling psychology program, I trained in Los Angeles as a meditation facilitator and co‑created a weekly meditation group for service providers in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. I also worked as a counsellor on an Assertive Community Treatment team, helping individuals exit homelessness and recover from mental health and substance use struggles. In addition, I have presented at numerous conferences and workshops about our team and the weekly support group I co‑facilitated.
I am a registered member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and I serve as a national trainer for the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness.
I live with my family on the Sunshine Coast. When I’m not working, I enjoy gardening, cycling, and making music with friends.
